This site exists to document one slice of collecting history: the objects, symbols, and habits that gathered around the Allied victory in the Second World War and the market that followed it. It began as a set of notes on terminology — what sellers mean by victory gear, how the V emblem spread, why surplus equipment looks the way it does — and grew into a standing reference.
